Top Ten Ways To Protect Your Home From RF Radiation

Your reading this article so that you can learn how to protect your home from RF radiation.  The problem is radiation is everywhere, so what do you do? And it’s affecting your health.  When you heat up leftovers from last night in your microwave, you’re also heating up your cells in your body.  Every time you call your mom on the east coast, you’re exposing your brain to harmful radiation waves.

In fact, did you know the world health organization recently classified radiation from cell phones as a possible carcinogenic? Yep. Pretty scary stuff.  And look up.  Those compact fluorescent light bulbs you are using are emitting harmful dirty electricity as we speak.  Most modern-day devices emit some level of radiation.  The truth is there is no safe level and it’s up to you to protect your family.

In our article “The 7 Worst Radiation Dangers In Your Home” we list links to a few (of hundreds) peer reviewed scientific studies that have been done that link RF Radiation to cancer and other biological problems.

Experts in this field believe long term exposure to even the smallest levels of radiation is responsible for an increase in brain cancer in kids, ADHS, sleep problems, obesity, diabetes, heart disease and other long-term health problems.  You don’t have to give up you high tech devices to reduce your exposure to radiation.

You can have your Facebook and feel healthy too.  I’ve already done all the research for you.  Some simple changes you can make today without spending a dime.  Other steps, you’ll want to purchase a few products to reduce radiation from particular device, such as that smart meter on the outside of your home.  Let’s get started.

1. HF-35C High Frequency Analyzer

You can’t solve a problem until you know what the problem is, right? The HF-35C High Frequency Analyzer is a specific tool designed to measure the amount of radiation a particular device is emitting.  The analyzer will tell you how much radiation is coming from your WiFi router, cell phone, Xbox, smart meter, wireless printer and other high-tech devices. This tool will run you a couple hundred dollars, but it’s worth it.  I recently purchased this product for my home and I was blown away with the levels I was getting.

The product measure radiation in micro-watts per square meter.  Really, anything below 50 is considered ‘safe.’ Although, many experts argue there is no safe level of radiation.  My wireless printer, Wi-Fi router and computers all maxed out the analyzer- which means they had levels well above 2,000.  That’s scary stuff. Because I know what products are emitting high levels of radiation, I can come up with a plan to fix it!  I highly recommend this product when beginning your journey to creating a radiation-free home for you and your family.

2. Smart Meter Guard

Okay, now that you’re know what the levels of radiation are throughout your home, you can take steps to reduce that exposure.  The Smart Meter Guard is an excellent product designed to greatly reduce the level of radiation emitted from your smart meter.  The guard is made of a metal mesh and fits security over your meter.  Recently, I put a guard over my digital meter.  I tested the meter before and after the guard with my HF-35C High Frequency Analyzer and was relieved to see the guard reduced radiation exposure by about 90%.

How about that? You can also use a similar guard for your Wi-Fi router called a Wifi Router Guard.  If you don’t want to purchase a meter guard, ask your power company if you can opt out of the smart meter program altogether.  Most power companies offer analog based meters if you have a concern about the radiation emitted from your smart meter.  You may need to pay a small fee, but it’s worth it.  Smart meters not only make your immune system more vulnerable with the constant pulses of radiation, it can make you vulnerable to cyber crimes.

3. Change Your Routine

This will probably be the most challenging for you.  I know it was for me.  If you really want to reduce your exposure to radiation inside your home, you need to change how and when you use your high-tech device, such as cell phones, computers and other appliances.

A recent study indicates we’re addicted to our phones, spending more than five hours a day on the devices.  Put the phone down.  Seriously, take it out of your pocket and turn it off. At least for now.  Experts believe keeping your cell phone in your pocket or coat is a recipe for cancer.  No thanks.  Also, keep your phone out of your bedroom at night.

Studies indicate sleeping with your cell phone near your head, like on a nightstand, could cause sleep problems, depression, headaches and nausea.  If you need your phone in your room, purchase a metal basket and keep it in there.  This is what I do.

The metal basket acts as a barrier between the radiation and you!  I like the Wavecage bucket. This product comes in several different sizes to fit every size of phone and tablet.  Also, never hold your cell phone up to your ear.  Put your phone on speaker or use a special radiation free headset. Stay away from Bluetooth.  We’ll talk about that later.  And unplug your wireless products and Wi-Fi when not in use. This will also reduce your radiation exposure.

4. Toss and Replace

Now, to those Bluetooth devices. Toss it out. Seriously, right now. Go ahead, I’ll wait.  Okay, welcome back.  Bluetooth devices are some the worst offenders when it comes to high levels of radiation.  What makes it even worse is that you are putting this device in your ear, attaching it to your brain.  Studies indicate a link between brain tumors and radiation exposure, like the kind that come from a Bluetooth device.

I read one study where a neurosurgeon said he hardly ever takes a phone call on his cell phone because of the risks to the brain.  That should tell you something right there.  If you need a hands-free set, opt for a radiation safe Air Tube Headset.  You can purchase these special headsets on Amazon for a few dollars. They’re fairly in expensive for what you’re getting in return.  These special headsets use air tubes, instead of wires to magnify the sound from your phone.  Pretty cool.

5. Replace Bulbs

If you really want to protect you and your family from the dangers of radiation and dirty electricity, you need to replace your compact fluorescent light bulbs. These bulbs emit high levels of radiation, in every room your using these bulbs.  They’re a popular choice because of the nice light they give off, but it’s just simply too dangerous.  If you can afford to, change out your bulbs with  halogen incandescent light bulbs.  Although make sure you go with a cooler tone instead of the warmer, blue tones.  Some experts believe the blue tones in LED bulb could cause some health issues.  It’s always something, right? Most hardware stores have light bulbs displays to help you decide which kind of bulbs will work best in your home.

6. Anti Radiation Phone Case

Cell phones are an essential part of life nowadays.  Modern technology makes it possible to communicate and work at a rapid pace.  It’s pretty cool, but it’s also really dangerous.  Cell phones are constantly sending signals and radiation even when we aren’t using the phone.  That means, unless the phone is totally shut off, you are being exposed to radiation 24/7.

Here’s the good news: There are special Anti Radiation Phone Cases designed to protect you from cell phone radiation.  You can order a shield for about $50- about the same as other non-shielding cases.  If you don’t want to turn your phone off, opt for this shield.  It works great and reduces radiation exposure by using special silver shielding mesh in the product.  I’ve ordered mine and can’t wait to use it.

I show you in the below video some other ways to protect yourself from cellphone radiation.

7. Graham-Stetzer Meter and Filters

The Graham-Stetzer Meter is designed to measure dirty electricity in your home.  So, what’s dirty electricity? It’s a form of radiation, corrupted energy emitted from the wiring in your home, dimmer switches and other appliances. Dr. Martin Graham, a professor at the University of California, Berkeley, designed the meter and filters as a way to reduce your exposure to dirty electricity.  I love this product and use it in just about every room in my house.

All you have to do is plug it in to an outlet and the filters suppress the dirty electricity from entering your home. Just like that.  Many people notice an immediate difference in how they sleep and feel.  Some experts believe dirty electricity is a contributing factor to leukemia, autism, obesity and other health problems.  Kids are even more vulnerable to the effects of this type of radiation than adults.  This is an inexpensive and easy way to reduce your radiation exposure throughout your home.

8. DIY Home Projects

Who feels like a DIY project? There’s nothing like a fresh coat of paint to spruce up a space.  Now, you can paint your home with a special blend of paint designed to reduce radiation and block signals.  Here’s how it works, according to the manufacturer: Due to its polyhedral carbon structure, without fibers or meshes, it offers consistent attenuation regardless of the direction of signal polarization and a highly conductive surface.

As a bonus, carbon I a good RF absorber. About 10% of Y-shielding effectiveness is due to absorption.  This reduces reflections and minimizes risk from RF sources traded inside the shielded area.” Got all that? Basically, this paint is designed to minimize the effects of radiation.  I have not used this product, but it has great reviews.

Another option reduce radiation exposure inside your home is to make or purchase curtains specifically designed to limit radiation into your home.  In my research, I’ve found a product called Select-a-Shield RF/EMI shielding curtains. According to the manufacturer, “the durable fabric is lightweight, Silver/Copper/Nickel fabric.  It has an average shielding effectiveness of 85 db. in the range of 30 MHZ to 1GHz.”  I have yet to pick up this product, but it would be interesting to see how well these curtains work.

I think this might be something you pick up as a last resort, if your other radiation reducing methods aren’t giving you the results you’re comfortable with.  You can also check out Amazon, where you can buy RF shielding fabric by the roll.  The fabric probably won’t match your modern décor, but who cares? What’s more modern than a radiation free home? You may start an interior design trend.  I can see RF shielding curtains on the cover of Better Home and Gardens as we speak.

9. Get A Landline

Do you have a cordless phone? Get rid of it.  Toss it out with the weekly garbage. A cordless phone emits a lot of radiation and you don’t want to expose yourself to those levels.  Some studies indicate, the base of a cordless phones operates much like a cell phone tower.  The base is constantly sending signals back and forth to the cordless phone.  All this back and forth of signals, creates a lot of radiation.  This type of radiation has also been linked to cancer and other serious health problems.

The easiest way to solve this problem is to get rid of the cordless phone all together and put in an old fashioned landline phone.  Yes, like the yellow phone you had as a kid.  The one with the long cord that always got tangled.  I swear that cord was like 100 feet.  The same phone you had to talk to your friends on in the kitchen- because that’s where the phone was connected to the wall.  That one.  And, yes, they still make them.

10. Say Bye-Bye to Baby Monitors

Baby monitors are a big source of radiation in a home.  Having a digital or analog baby monitor in your child’s room is the same as putting a microwave next to their crib or bed.  Would you ever do that? Probably not.  While there are safer options, such a voice activated monitors, these devices still emit some level of radiation.  How much radiation are you comfortable exposing your child to?  That’s why experts around the world recommended skipping the baby monitor on your baby registry.  If you can, check on your child with your own two eyes.

No matter what your budget, you can make changes right now to reduce your radiation exposure.  You can start today.  Leave your phone in the living room when you go to bed.  Turn off your computer when you’re not using it.  And, disable the WiFi features on your phone and in your car.  It may take a while to change your habits, but it’s worth it. Good luck and let me know how it goes!
