Best Cellphone Radiation Protection Items – My Top Picks!

Cellphone Radiation Protection Items

The cellphone is the number one cause of RF Radiation exposure in the world today. Everyone has a cellphone. And we hold them very close to our heads when using them. Many carry them in a pocket, putting them right next to their body. Since cellphones have come into common usage the percentage of brain tumors in the area of the head near the ear has increased significantly.

If your goal is to reduce your exposure to cellphone caused RF Radiation, the first rule is do not use Bluetooth headsets. Use an Air Tube Headset. (I have some examples of Air Tube Headsets towards the bottom of this article.) But doing that alone is not sufficient. In order to be safe there are 4 other basic items that you need in addition. I describe them below.

In the below video I demonstrate all of the below protections except the Aulterra Neutralizer Sticker. I did not know about the sticker at the time I made the video. In this video I test a cellphone and some Bluetooth earbuds with a meter so that you can see how much RF Radiation they emit. You will be surprised. It is a lot. Then I show you how to use the Ferrite beads and the WaveCage to protect yourself. I also give you a bit more insight on the Air Tube Headset. It is a very short video but definitely worth watching!

1. Radiation Blocking Cellphone Case

Defendershield Cellphone Case

Radiation Blocking Cellphone Cases have a fabric that lines one side of the case that is woven with metallic fibers in it. RF Radiation does not go through parallel strands of conductive metal very well.

My favorite case is the one by SafeSleeve. It is an excellent quality case that is not too expensive. It is the best bang for the buck. You can check out its price here on Safesleevecases.com.

Another well-known case is the one by DefenderShield. It is quite a bit more expensive, however, and I don’t really think it is worth the increased price personally.

Be sure to stay away from the Safesleeve detachable style anti radiation phone case. The detachable style has a metallic back (so it is magnetic) which blocks the antenna of most phones and since it is a solid piece of metal it reflects more of the radiation around the front flap than it otherwise would. Their non-detachable style anti-radiation cases are great though!

These cases block 90% to 95% of the RF Radiation from going through the side of the case that is lined. If you have to hold your cell phone up to your head, then make sure you have the lined side of the case between your head and the phone.

Some RF Radiation will still go around the case and into your head, but it will block a lot of it. When you carry your cellphone try not to carry it right next to your body in a pocket. Try to keep it like in a loose jacket pocket or in a purse, but always set it so that the protected side of the phone is facing your body.

2. Aulterra Neutralizer Sticker

Galaxy A6 Back with Sticker

The Aulterra Neutralizer Sticker is a product that has an surprising amount of science behind it. I go over all of the science in my article entitled “Aulterra EMF Neutralizer Products Review“. At first I wasn’t so sure about these types of products. I thought people that liked them must just be getting a placebo affect. My opinion changed when I started reading the scientific tests.

Kim Dandurand developed this technology in 1996 when he was engaged in a major environmental cleanup project where this technology was used to neutralize chemical and radioactive waste from landfill sites.

He then funded a bunch of studies to see if these same paramagnetic minerals would neutralize RF Radiation. What he learned was that they do 2 things. First they decrease the intensity of the radiation. And second they neutralize the effects of electromagnetic radiation rendering it harmless to human DNA.

Basically, the way I understand it, the paramagnetic minerals within the Aulterra stickers form a magnetic field that changes the man-made waves emitted by a cellphone into a more natural form. This reduces the damage they cause by about 95%. Check out the price here on their website at Aulterra.com

Aulterra stickers will reduce the intensity and the damaging effect of cellphone Radiation. All of the rest of these products I talk about on this page limit the quantity of RF Radiation that you are exposed to. In my estimation, both methods are equally important.

In the past I have dismissed these types of products immediately without giving them a second look. But what caught my attention was the below video. I am very familiar with these types of blood tests and have been tested myself for nutritional types of deficiencies in this way. So I know that these tests work and how quickly your blood can be affected. Take a quick look, if you would, at this short video. I think you will be as surprised as I was.

3. Ferrite Beads

Ferrite Bead Laptop ChargerFerrite BeadAn item called a Ferrite Bead is as important of an item as any that I talk about. Without a Ferrite Bead on the base of your corded headset (see image below right) the RF Radiation will go right up the cord like it was an antenna to the base of your air tubes. The radiation may not get to your head, but it will radiate from the cord into your body. This is like holding the cellphone next to your body. The link above was for the white snap on Ferrite Beads. Here is a link for the black Ferrite Beads.

Ferrite Bead

Ferrite Beads

Ferrite Beads are a technology that has been around a long time. It is used a lot on cords to protect the device from damage caused by high-frequency spikes and surges. (See image above right of a ferrite bead on a laptop charger cord.) Ferrite Beads produce electromagnetic fields that absorb high-frequency spikes and surges so that only the frequency of electricity that is supposed to go through the wire goes through. This will block 95% of the RF Radiation from traveling up the cord.

4. Steel Mesh Bucket

Radiation Protection

Walmart Mesh Basket

As you can see from the pictures both on the left and on the right, there are different size Steel Mesh Buckets available. These are also very important, because they will keep the RF Radiation from your cellphones from radiating you while you sleep. The image on the left is called a WaveCage, and is perfect for keeping a smartphone in at night. The image on the right is a picture of a Steel Mesh Waste Basket that I purchased from Amazon. They are not as aesthetically pleasing an option, but they do the trick nicely.

Steel Mesh Condiment Caddy

Also here is one other option called the Steel Mesh Condiment Caddy also available on Amazon.com.

A Steel Mesh Bucket like either of these above will block 90% to 95% of the RF Radiation that emits from your cellphone, or anything else (like a baby monitor) that you place in them. When you use these you want to have them sitting on something at least as high as your head (especially the WaveCage, since it is smaller), because they have open tops.

These are very important. I keep my WaveCage on my desk as I work all day so that I can keep my cellphone in it. I work on a computer and have my laptop hard wired into the internet and have my WiFi turned off, so I don’t get radiated from anything, including my cellphone, while I work all day. It is great.

Air Tube Headset

Air Tube Headset

For a detailed review of 9 different quality brands of air tube headsets please see my article entitled “The 9 Best Air Tube Headsets – My Top Picks!

Now lets get into more detail about Air Tube Headsets. Air Tube headsets are the best way to use your cellphone and know for sure the radiation is not being emitted right next to your head. Your head is the most vulnerable to RF Radiation.

The idea behind an Air Tube Headset is that zero radiation goes up the cord and into your ear because about mid way up the headset are the speakers, and then from the speakers to your ears are air tubes. So no wires go to your head. It works similar to a stethoscope.

The above left image is a picture of a very top of the line Air Tube Headset that you can get on Amazon. This next link is a link to a more moderately priced Air Tube Headset that seems to still be good quality. Both are great and you can’t go wrong with either.

And the more honest manufacturers recommend that you have a Ferrite Bead on the base of the cord anyway, because radiation will still travel up the cord to the speakers. With the cord leaning against your body radiation will still be radiating into your body, it just won’t make it to your head. I prefer just a normal corded headset with a Ferrite Bead attached to its base. So be sure to get a ferrite bead to install on the base of the cord, even with an Air Tube headset.

For sure the safest route would be an Air Tube Headset with a Ferrite Bead attached to the base of the cord. The sound is great with them.

Phone (& RFID) Guard

Phone and RFID GuardI did not number the Phone (& RFID) Guard because I do not consider it a necessity. But it sure is handy. I love it because I can stick all my credit cards in it when I am traveling and I know I am 100% safe from anyone trying to steal my credit card information.

This has two pockets in it. In one it works like a Radiation Blocking Cellphone Case where radiation is blocked on one side of the phone. In the 2nd pocket whatever you put in it almost 100% of the radiation is blocked, in or out, in all directions. If you stick your phone in this pocket it will not ring if someone is calling it. It blocks that much RF Radiation. Again this is unique. Not everyone needs it. But I really like it so I list it here.

As I was recently doing some research for new types of EMF protection devices, I came across this article on wired.com as well as this article on techwellness.com. I would be very leery of listening to anything Tech Wellness says. Some of the solutions she recommends I have tested myself, and they dump so much dirty electricity onto your electrical wiring, that her solution is more dangerous to your health than the original problem. And that wired article ignores all of the hundreds of independently funded peer-reviewed studies out their that find the exact opposite of what they claim in their article.
